Recently just got a little guy about 1.5" I want to add some top to mid level dithers to his tank sort of like danios just a bit more colourful. Was thinking maybe guppies but doubt they would surrvive, any suggestion on colourful shoaling fish.

Get some nice 3-6" growing tetras. They grow big enough to not bother the jack or be eaten by it. Giant danios would work too, but get them as small as possible or their nippy nature might go after the jack and make it shy.

Will look Into tetras, not a fan of giant danios just not my cup of tea. Would larger sail fin mollies work ?? Or even a shoal of rosy Barbs?

Rosy barbs would probably work. The only time you would have to worry is when the jack is full grown as that would be the only size it would possibly have a large enough mouth.

I hear you on the giant danios. Great dithers, but they leave lot to be desired in the color and movement areas.

Mollies would probably work as well. Definitely not aggressive. The only concern would be that the vast majority of species are brackish. Having said that, many people have kept them just fine in freshwater setups.

Not to worried about the jack trying to eat them as they are easily replaced just want some nice contrast in colours. Ill see what I can pick up.

Just pick up a bunch at your local chain store when they go on sale for $1 each and make sure to quarantine them for at least 2 weeks, preferably 3-4 weeks.
