My EBJD (1.5") is currently in my 29 gallon until I can either get another 55 or 40 breeder to move my Rainbows into as the 55 gallon they are in now I customized for my EBJD before I ended up moving my rainbows into it because they needed more room. When I end up moving my EBJD into his home I am going to get some angels and rams for the 29 gallon.

So I guess my question is can I put a couple of angels and rams in with him now or should I just wait until I can move him?

yes angelfish and rams will be fine with him. and a 55 is what a full grow EBJD will need. :D

they would be fine, and you can do it now or wait until you move . . . EBJD are slow growers, you probably have more time than you think . . .

The only concern I'd have with this, is making sure the fish you plan on adding are healthy. EBJD's are extremely prone to infection at small sizes and once they get sick, it's nearly impossible to get them well.

I mean, once they get sick when they're smaller than 2.5"s it's hard to get them well. I had 2 smaller ones before I got my biggest one. The one little one got popeye and I treated it with just about everything meds wise. It never responded to any of them. I ended up losing that one to infection. The second little one died after it got a little too close to the eggs from my Convict and HRP's spawn.

Yeah, the 55 gallon that my rainbows are currently in will be the final home of my EBJD. I am a huge comic book nerd and I painted the back of the tank in black and blue with a Blue Lantern logo in the middle, used blue and black gravel and bought a couple of replica blue lantern rings (they are safe for aquariums) to place in there.

I am looking at getting either a 55 or 40 breeder for my rainbows.

Not a problem the lfs that I buy 80% of my fish from are extremely careful. When they get their fish in they treat them for bacteria and parasites. they also quarantine them for 14 days before they even go up for sale. Also their tanks are not all on the same system so if one tank has issues it doesn't spread to the whole stores stock.

that sounds like the kind of place from which you would want to get tankmates for a young ebjd because the are vulnerable to contagious fish

Yeah that is where I plan on going to get them, that is actually where I got my EBJD from.
