Hello all. I was curious to know what other long term Ebo Jager users have done with their older heaters as far as when to replace them goes.

I just re-did my 65g tank from saltwater to planted, and I realized that the 200w Ebo Jager is the original that I got when I upgraded the tank from a 35 to a 65 five years ago. every thing is fine with the heater...

but with all these heater failure threads lately it got me thinking:

should I swap it out for a new one?

or just leave it another year or two?

I have an Ebo that is 8 years old, but I only run it intermittenly on my hospital tank, so it doesn't go full time anymore. when it runs though, its fine.

any thoughts?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Ebo Jager heaters are a solid product. I'd imagine if you got a defective one you'd have known it long ago. If you don't do something to break it, it'll likely last you a few more decades.
