Well recently ive lost my giant fire eel ive had him since i started the hobby about 10 years back and im rather attatched to eels for this reason. Browsing my local i was offered a "marbled snowflake eel" which i believe to be Echidna rhodochilius and ive heared that these fish are at best brackish and nigh on impossible to feed.

Now i'm wanting to know if this is true, as i only have fresh water set ups and i really am on the prowl for a big eel to make use of the terracotta pots set up in my old eels tank!

Im proposing a heavilly filtered 4x2x2 tank with a shoal of 6
Chalceus erythrurus "large scaled chalceus" and some spiny plec of what species i havent decided on, any advice would be hugely welcome

yes they are high end brackish to salt water but i haven't herd of them being to picky

killerfish is right about their need of pretty much saltwater. If you get a good specimen it shouldnt be hard to get it to feed, the problem is that many shipments i've seen come in pretty rough shape.

guess that pretty much scratches out me buying one then! dont have a brackish or salt set up :P
