Hi. I recently bought an E rubin for my low light tank which only gets 1w per gallon! I've since found out they need moderate lighting!! What I want to know is does my new plant stand any chance of surviving in far from ideal conditions?

If it won't grow as fast that's not a problem, but if it's going to die I'll put it in a different tank. I did my homework before buying but got E barthii & E rubin mixed up. :grinno:

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers Outlander.

Try it out, if it starts to look unhealthy after a little bit of time then put it in another tank. If it doesn't then just leave it.

x2 . . . echinodorus species are generally pretty adaptable; you should expect slower growth and, I think you may not get as much of the red as you might under stronger lighting . . .
