Eclipse catfish questions

I am considering getting one or several of these fish however I would like to know more about their care and temperament first .
The petstore has a number of them about 3-4" long and they seem to be schooling fish. The store says they get about 6" i double check all pet store lengths if I can .

So for the q's
How big really?
how big a tank ?
How many to a tank?
potential tank mates?
Are they aggresive or/and preadatory?
Any special warnings, precautions or speacial requirements to consider?

I had a sun cat years ago they are pretty peaceful but predatory. I kept mine with other cats of similar size. You can get by with 2 or 3 together if you have space. Not as personable as other asian cats I had but more colorful.

A petstore I go to says they get about eight inches. This is dead wrong! They get eight-teen inches!

They can get to 18", but this have never happened before in a home aquarium. They normally get to 10" in a home aquarium They are schooling fish once young, but as they get older they will become very territorial towards each other. I have had two for about.... two years and they are both 5" and 6" and constantly fighting.
Beast of a catfish though, lol.
