OK so I'm looking for lighting for my new 265 (7x2) and would love to hear some affordable ideas for LED setups. I just dropped for the tank, new titanium heaters, glass tops, a couple of fx5's and all the costs associated with picking up the tank so I reeeeeally don't want to drop another $400 on lighting. I feel like there should definitely be ways to do this without resorting to buying a few strips of "LED" rope lights and building a fixture myself. Any ideas folks?

Even a DIY fixture made from 3w crees and ebay heat sinks will run several hundred dollars. The energy saved and unlimited bulb life will make up the cost in about 2 years though. It's worth the initial investment to do it right.

A DIY set-up with XP-G crees is your best bet.
