on a trip to cologne, germany last weekend i learnt of this project in cologne aquarium. I managed to get a 20 page leaflet (in german) from the very useful staff (who didnt speak english) which i am currently translating, it contains useful info on: astacus astacus, austropotamobius torrentium, astacus leptodactylus, orconectes limosus, pacifastacus leniusculus, procambarus clarkii and a few more as well as a table which could prove very useful for cray ID. I will post up bits here as i translate as well as adding pics and other bits of info.

yeah i've speak some german myself, well enough to get the leaflet off them lol. It was very good went in a few lfs aswell. They had quite a few monsters in the aquarium like arapaima, lince cats, biggest piranha tank i ever seen and loads of crays.

Ooo, lince cats... I just love how those guys look. I'll be in Kaiserslautern this summer (well, hopefully... depends on my Visas), it's only like 2-3 hours away from me. Should I go check it out? ...you know, when I'm not busy scouring LFS for crayfish to bring home, haha.

Only pics i got were on my phone which were crap as it was fairly dark in there, only ok pics i got were of the pima. Theres loads of pics in the leaflet which i'll try and scan in, seems i missed the crayfish awareness weekend they held there by a few weeks as well.
