Eel and flounder?

Ordered the eel from an LFS already, but if someone who has experience with the combo replies I may get the flounder as well

Eels do best in a species only tank they will injure maim and even kill all their tank mates irrespective of size

Will be a difficult mix as the eel will want much rock work and many nooks and crannies whereas the flounder will want much open Sandy bottom space to move around on and bury in. Not sure how you will achieve both without a very big tank.
I have kept snowflake eel with many other fish successfully but never tried flounder simply because of the above. Had snowflake, bat fish, porcupine puffer, polka dot grouper and damsels in a 6x2x2 for a number of years but not tried tile and flounder.

They should stay out of each other’s way and neither could eat the other, though if a fight happened there will be a lot of injuries. Like Fishman Dave Fishman Dave said you would need a lot of space to accommodate both of their needs.
