eel id by description

i saw an eel at the lfs and failed to take a pic. it was labelled as a tesselata, but after reserching them that doesnt seem to be what it was.

it had a silvery/cream color body with black spots/stripes that instantly reminded me of a fw royal clown knife.
nasty visible teeth and the head shape more like a dragon eel rather than say a snowflake.
it was about 18-22" long.

sounds like a fimbriatus to me. did it have a greenish or yellow head?

not that i recall, but perhaps it was stressed out, not exactly the best conditions.
