Hey everyone, been a while since I have been around MFK. Went to the LFS today and they had, what a thought, a handfull of nice size Tire Track Eels. After bring it home and looking at it closer, Im not sure what it is, I'm not a huge eel guy, can anyone identify it for me?

It was labeled as a Fire Eel but it clearly isnt, definitely in the Spiny family though.

He is about 18", picked him up for 45$.

Thanks! I thought so too.

Now if I can just find out what it is...

looks like a stressed tire track eel. Fr from an eel guru though

That would make sense and is what I originally thought, didnt know their colors showed through stress though.

Borneo python eel. Tail gives it away, he's give or take full grown.

Awesome.

Thanks everyone.

Looks like these guys are pretty uncommon. Only price I could find is $150+ so looks like I made out like a bandit!

Hell yeah!
