my eel jumped out of my tank and was laying on the floor when i woke up this morning. the night before i moved him to another tank. i put him back in the tank and hes breathing but it kind of looks like hes shedding. will he be okay?

I know when some fish are stuck out of the water, they secreet a layer of mucas that keeps their bodies from drying out. that might be what he's "shedding".

I bet he'll be fine. I found my Zebra eel dried up and stuck to my carpet once. I thought he was dead until his mouth moved. I scooped him up and put him back in the tank and he was fine in a few days. Yours is just shedding it's slime coat. Mine did the same thing. It's what helps them survive when they're out of water.
