I am getting ready to purchase my first eel. I dont want the standard Snowflake Eel. I have been looking at buying a Golden Moray Eel. I like the fact that it seems not to be very aggressive and only grow to about 2'. Have any of you had or currently have a Golden? if so can you just post your thoughts on it and some general information. It seems to be really hard to find anything on it.

Golden Moray Eel are easy to keep, make sure you have a top on your tank. You should never feed live food if you make a community tank. Its best to feed them with a stick, they need help because most eels have bad eye sight.Golden Moray Eel will bite the s... out of you never hand feed. This eel will make a great friend, good luck and happy reefin.......

nomatter what kind of eel you have you'll need some marine salt. salinity should be 1.011 or around about that. put it at 16ppts. keep a top on your tank. they are escape artists.

I have two eels - a golden dwarf moray and a zebra.

My zebra is a voracious eater....Voracious. He is a a little bit larger than you are looking for - mine is about 26 inches and still growing.

My golden dwarf moray is very docile but like it was mentioned earlier GET A TOP!! During transport when I got him a while back ago the guy put him in a bucket and 5 minutes later I look back and he is chillin on the floor. So that's a definite. He loves his hiding spots and sticks to them mostly. I have really wanted to take away all his rocks just so I can see him more but I know he likes them.

Golden dwarfs are he way to go he is my wifes favorite....mines the zebra;)

Between my want for a good eel and this HR669 scare coming up i bought the golden moray. It will be here next week. This is also my first online purchase. I got him from the divers den in live aquaria. I will post some pics when i get her
