I currently have a 19 inch tire track eel in my 75 gallon and I'm trying to upgrade to a 300 gallon tank to put my arowana, gar, and eel in. Im wondering if I could put a ray or two with the eel, I know it could be a problem sonce they're both bottom dwellers and I don't want the eel to spook a ray and get stung. I have him in a 3" pvc pipe which he loves but he does like to come out when he's hungry (which is often). What does everyone here think?

I keep a 25 inch fire eel with my mature female marble motoro ray, they are fine. The Ray nips him every now and then but doesn't cause harm, it is just frustration / competition where the Eel nicks her food. Just make sure you pick the Ray carefully as my female has now outgrown my 300 gallon tank. Maybe a Hystrix or stick with a male as they do not grow as large. Richard at Wharf Aquatics is a great person to buy from, he doesn't come on here any more but he is Aquaman45, you can find him at wharf or on facebook.
