So I saw it in a video the other day and it got me wondering; how do "fresh water eels" and cichlids get along? I'd like to wait for a bigger tank before I tried it but I think it'd be a cool addition if it could work out.

Anyone have any experience with it working or not?

P.S. The type of cichlids probably make a difference. List of possible tank mates would be Jack Dempsey, EBJD, green terror, paratilopia bleekeri, blood parrot, severums and possible others that go along with those (I'm always finding new things I want, I need waaay more tanks =p).

I have had a good experience with spiny eels and cichlids, but it usually depends on the personality of each cichlid. I personally haven't had any issues with JD's or severums, but the GT could be iffy if it's an aggressive one. Not sure about the paratilapia.

I have khuli loaches that run circles around my Jack Dempsey. She gave up trying to murder them a while ago. I've seen fire eels with large cichlids in big tanks work well.
