i am moving across the country... again... so i had to tear down my tanks... again. So now I have an Empty tank that i am going to go salt water with. Now i have always wanted a morey since i was a kid. I have one now but hes just a little guy (gold dust). I want a big one. So I plan on getting either a green, honey comb or both. Is there any fish I will be able to live with these titans? I would really like to have a grouper or trigger but im thinking eventually it wouldn't work. What about a lion or puffer? or anything really... i know im kinda asking a lot. also if anyone has any ideas about large moreys like will at least tolerate each other im open to ideas. Only reason i say honey and green is because i have seen full grown green and honey living togeather. thanks.

The rule with morays is that if it cant fit in their mouth, then it will probably be ok.

one my lfs's have a huge green moray in a 155 bow front and it's looking cramped!!!!!..........so to get tankmates you must have a huge tank or be wiling to get a huge tank............good luck with that morays are amazing.....:)

Another good rule is anything that is poisonous fish will usually(99.9%) Never be messed with by other aquarium tankmates. So puffers, lionfish, squirrelfish, coral cats( The will need to be pretty big though), scorpions. Those are just a few to mention but there is a lot more out there.

i have never heard that once.. actually sometimes people discourage anglerfish and lionfish being kept together because the angler may try to eat the lionfish.... (depending on size)

Thats why I said Lion or Puffer... but I dont want them to actully eat them and... well die. thats why i asked. Has anyone actully tried this? Kinda looking for at least second hand experience.

Have you ever experianced or seen that happen? Those anglers were probably eating lionfish fry. Anglers are not going to eat a lionfish 5-6 inches long. If you havent experienced it then how can you be sure that it has really happened? Most of the time fish will avoid eating something that is likely going to kill it if they do.

My 22" Moray tried to eat my smallest puffer one time, and they are indeed poisonous! I know a guy with a 800G reef and he had a huge moray, but the moray one day decided to eat the porky puffers and died, so puffers are not great tank mates for morays IMO.
