Eels and rays as tankmates.

I have 2x Motoro rays, and Im considering getting an eel as a pet for their tank as well. Anyone have any experience on how the 2 play together? Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but my googling has yielded minimal useful knowledge on the fact. If it were a risk for the eel, Im willing to accept that, if its a risk to the Ray, then I cannot afford to chance it. Based on my location, Im sure you can imagine how hard it is to get Stingrays compared to a FW eel.

Thanks in advance - this a repost of one I made in the eel section, just trying to get a good feel for any experience with keeping the 2 together...

Could have sworn I saw a FW eel at 2 local fish stores, maybe I was wandering into the wrong section....I guess Ill double check.

Yes rays are illegal in my state, so are sugar gliders, I own both.

Do I care, not really.....

This post wasnt meant to be a discussion about legality of the animals, simply if they would work as tankmates :P
 
I just posted in your other question about maturing your tank properly, I would not add anymore fish for at least a month once you have got grips with the feeding/water change regime. A 5" motoro should reach 10" in 6months from now. Once the tank is running good then as long as the eel is big enough the they should be fine together. The fish you have or want will outgrow your tank quickly so look at upgrading to a wider tank in about a year.

agreed they will close threads for no reason other then the "2nd owner" dislikes the person, but when something illegal is going on it stays up
