I'm planning to add a little amount of KCl into my tank.
it is to add some K for my plants, i have some peace lilies in my tank to help with nitrates. but i'm planning to add some KCL for them,

just wondering what is the effect of KCl on freshwater fish? I have some motoro stingray in my tank and an arowana.

planning to add a little amount of KCl into my sump.
will there be any bad effect on the motoros?

I'm concerned about the rays.

If the plants aren't surviving on what is in the water then you may have too many plants (or the wrong plants) or to efficient of a filtration system (not a bad thing).

If your dead set on keeping the same amount of plants you can remove them to another container for a few days and feed them there, then rinse well and move them back to the tank (sump?).

thanks :) will not add the KCl , i added the plants to help remove excess nitrates.
but my nitrates are about 20 ppm after my weekly water change, last time i tested before water change my nitrate is at 40ppm
