effect on kok's flowerhorn?

hi,i am daniel from the philippines and a new member..
i have a question regarding flowerhorns,i have a pair of flowerhorn that is about to spawn basing on their behaviors.they are still young(5 inches) and of lower grade or low quality,the male has only small humps or kok,the reason i want to breed them is to gain experience and i thought that starting with lower grades is practical and cheaper.haha!
anyways,someone told me that being with a female pair,the male's kok/hump will shrink.is this really true?

no it will shrink when it doesn't have a female and it won't shrink that much

mines still the same size idk why though. n its in my tank with its mate. waiting for them to have some frys but his head is getting bigger not smaller weird..
