Does anyone know the effects that altitude (nothing drastically high, say the 9th or 10th floor) has on seals of an aquarium? I stumbled across a pretty decent deal on a 270g (roughly 6x3x2 finally gonna have some 3 ft turn space) and the owner says that the pressure on the 9th floor caused the seams to tear. Can anyone confirm this? Going to go look at the tank on sunday, its still holding water, just leaks toward the top. most likely going to get it since tanks that big are hard and very expensive here in japan.

I do not know why that would make a difference, atmospheric pressure goes down as you go up, (less air piled up on you) you are only talking about 150' at the most (roughly 50 meters? i think) I just do not see how that can make a difference, if the tank leaks it is because it has a crack or a seam is loose.

:iagree: being on the tenth floor would have such a minimal affect on atmospheric pressure it would be unnoticeable. Like said before a higher altitude would actually lessen the pressure on a tank.

Have they ever had an aquarium on the space shuttle?

Play it off so you can get the tank cheaper lol
