Ok well, over the last month i've been slowly raising the temperature of one of my tanks from about 22 Celsius to 28 Celsius or 71 Fahrenheit to 82 Fahrenheit.
the difference in behaviour of my fish has been changing with the temperature, there all alot more active and seem to be well growing faster....
anyone else done this/noticed similar things?

Yes. Increased temps are good for seasonal simulation/sparking spawning behavior, increasing aggression and more, but do realize they also decrease oxygen content in the water and speed up the metabolism of cold-blooded animals thereby shortening lifespan. But for fish from areas where the water really is 82ºF, lower temps may compromise the immune system.

That's right. Warmer water = faster growth and active fish. I keep all my tanks around 80-81 for those exact reasons. I don't mind shaving a year off the lifespan of my fish if they're already gonna live for 10-15 years. Makes them much more fun to watch in my opinion.

Agreed.

maybe i will slowly drop it a degree or two and try and hit it about the middle....
alot to think about as always.
