i currently have a 120g 4X2X2 planted setup with 5 4"-6" rbp. they are all just about a year old as i bought them when they were all 1/2" long. they have been showing a very dark color lately, almost a slate grey and this morning i noticed that one of them was alone on one side of the tank and not welcoming anyone to at side of the tank what so ever. upon closer inspection i saw that "she" was guarding a cluster of browish/orange eggs that had been laid on the stump of a plant that had been trimmed down with "her" teeth. does anyone have any suggestions as to what i should do? i would like to keep them and try to raise them but have no experience in this. i have a 15g standby tank ready and only needing water. please help me if you can, any advise would be great

You going to need to get more tanks. Seems like you have a breeding pair. Get rid of the others or buy more tanks. This pair will breed over and over and over.... Cha CHING!!!!

welp....the eggs hatched and i wasnt ready, the research i did said they wouldnt hatch for close to 2 weeks. by the time i got home from work they had hatched and for some reason settled into the nooks and cranies of the gravel where is seems they cannont get out. the have little orange yoke sacks for nurishment but once thlse are gone i'm not sure how to care for them....off to do more research haha. i would move them to a fry container which i bought but i fear shifting the grave around to free them may crush them. sure wish there was a breeding sticky thred....

you can try gravel vac them out and try to save as many as you can into the fry tank you prepared.
