I saw a video of an egg eating snake. I am a rat lover and owner and could never feed rodents, even if they are pre dead and humanly killed. Has anyone ever owned one? Can they eat chicken eggs?

I made an alt. snake food topic a few weeks ago... and the idea of egg eating snakes was plausible, but they are hard to get and make lousy pets, apparently.

They don't make lousy pets. Where did you find that out? Everyone say they are extremely hardy and don't easily die or get sick in captivity...

The only problem is that they need small eggs and finding small eggs to feed them is even harder. No bigger than quail eggs.

They don't have teeth... and most of them are diurnal...

Some people don't like the saw-scaling noise they make though since it can remind people way too much of rattlesnakes.

That made me laugh pretty hard... The people I live with fear mice/rats more then ANYTHING in the world (seriously) we have traps going 24/7... Never seen one in the house yet.

They'd **** a brick if they knew I fed my snake frozen fuzzy mice.

They are good enough pets, and there are a few species out there you can keep, but you have to know you have a good enough egg supply, young ones might need finch eggs, older ones can deal with small quail eggs etc. Chicken eggs will probably be a bit too big. Personality and active wise, same as any other snake, depends on the individual, some are shy and don't like handling, some are the opposite.
