Egg rate lid safe?

On my 200 gallon from half is glass lid. But for rear half I want to make a egg crate lid cuz it's easy to cut to size to fit nice around filters ect. With no gaps. Just worried will my peacock bass try to jump an will they prob jump through an push it cuz its light ?

Put something heavy on top of it.. its better if they jump and hit eggcrate rather than jumping and flopping on the floor....

Ya I had it for a cover but strong fish will move it I had a regular brick on it to secure it and my fish still jumped through. I have given up on lids

They jumped through the holes cuz they were small or jumped through meaning they broke the crate an busted through it ?

egg crates work great. dont use bricks it might break...maybe but its better if you just use those bungee cords that can clip on the side of the tank. thats what my dad used on his aro tank. gl
