I knew something was up when My red devil had a fieaking 1/2 CM breeding tube, and was hanging out with my big KK(sizes in sig.) Well I look, a figure it a lost cause. Then I see a few white spots on the lacerock. and about 300eggs are there. MY F****** 6-9" kk parot frggin hybridized with a damn 3.5" red devil. I will see what happend next. I have learned to not be intrucive from breeding cons(shined a light in every day-always ate the eggs.) if they do hach, what do you think they will be? a type of FH, just another stan of parrot what will I get? has anything like this happend with simalar pairs? I will spend tommorow learning how to post pics. Don't have a job yet so I'm almost always free.

well, this morning half the eggs are white, and it's the RD that fans them, so I'm guessing the kk is a male. eithier he's infertile, but i hope he just had trouble fertilizing in a tight space. At least the Red devil is beter than my egg eating convicts, even on it's first try. Now she just needs to learn how to eat the white eggs.
I think that this pair won't get anywhere, due to the fact that the male is a parrot(if it was the other way around...), but on the bright side, the red devil is getting breeding experience, and their is a 5" red devil for sale for $15 at one of the lfs that i think is a male.

almost all theeggs are white, despite the rds constant fanning. i'll give a week. if they don't clean up, i'll throw =some shrimp pellots onthe eggs and let the pictus do it

thats what I thought, but still, There was a giant breeding tube on it, and shes guarding her eggs.

Have patience. Maybe there is the most common "problem" with cichlids... The very first spawns are infertile. My albino oscars laid eggs FIVE times to get a viable brood. ;)

Best regards.

Daniel.

its been aroud 3 or 4 days. one of them seems to be hanging on but, well i hope danieal is right. but I have little hope of fertile eggs in the future, because the male is the parrot
