I have recently added the eheim ecco pro filters onto my tanks and im having trouble keeping the water clean. The tubes are constantly getting caked with stuff on the inside and the water is green :(. I feel like this all started when i took the carbon filter out at the recommended 14 days, so i recently changed all the pads even though, it has maybe only been two months added the carbon back and the water doesn't seem to be getting better. Any Ideas?

The inside of the tubes will have bacteria grow in them, it's fine. Eheim uses transparent tubes so it's a little bit of an eye sore, but all filters do it.

The green water is probably algae, it's more common in a newly set up aquarium, but any one can have a bloom.

Do you keep your lights on all day? If so try reducing the about of time they are on. 0-4hrs is a good range for an aquarium with only fish.

Turn the lights off and do 20% water changes every day till the water clears up.

Thank you for your advice, i will try, the only thing i cannot do it turn off the lights because they do not have individual light the whole room is on a timer system.
