they say that the Lee 5/8" clear vinyl hosing that you can replace your 16/22mm eheim hosing with. but to me lee's looks so much smaller/narrower than the eheim's green hoses. im pretty sure that i can fit it in...but will this affect flow rate?

i think it does, specially since its on the outflow part of the eheim 2217 that i think works with gravity. i want to hear what you guys think...if my eyes are just decieving me haha

thanks

I had this very issue recently on a new filter. Didn't have enough of the 16/22 hose so I went to my LFS and bought some 5/8" clear. I had a little trouble making it fit so I just ended up ordering some more 16/22 online. Didn't want to risk it.

actually the 5/8" fits alright in the outtake nose, but the 5/8" def is too big to replace the 12/16" tubing(intake). have you also noticed that the eheim hose are wider than the 5/8"s opening...or is it just me?

I'm not really sure what you are asking for. If you are not using the Eheim brand hose, you need to buy hose with the proper I.D. and O.D. to fit on the fittings and to use the nut that secures the hose in place. Try to stay away from flimsy hose as it is more prone to kinking or collapsing.
