Eheim 2026 Wont Prime-Any Ideas?

Hi all. I have an Eheim 2026 that was working fine this morning. Its been a while since I did maintenance on the filter, so I decided to do that, plus change the gaskets. I put brand new gaskets in (on the tubes-2) and my main gasket is relatively new. I put some KY on the main seals and the priming unit since my prime button (or whatever you call it) was sluggish. I set it up and it started to fill, then stopped. There was a lot of gurgling in the tubes (releasing air) and it just stopped flat. I have taken the filter apart 10 times with no luck getting it to prime or fill with water. I also cleaned out the intakes and output and the little ball.

What am I missing here?

Try filling it with water yourself, then start it up and prime it. I personally dont think the priming button does a whole hell of alot.

I prefer my classics over the Pro II's anyway.

Thanks for the reply! I actually just tried that a few minutes ago and it worked. They promote that prime button as the greatest thing since slice bread and I've always found it to be a pain-especially with the lubing of it.

I use the classics. I know they work lol.

i had a fluval do that,it seams they prime ok for the first time then just give up,what a crap idea if they dont work all the time.
