Eheim 2075 question

I work in scrap yard n we get alot of house clearances n stuff. Today I got a eheim 2075 it has not got the quick release bit thou for the hoses to go in. I can get one off eBay. However the problem I'd when I plugged it in it didn't work do u need the top quick release bit to turn the filter on or should it still run without it. In other words is it fxxked cheers.

You need to expand on "it didn't work". Does this mean you plugged it in and the pump did not start?
 
Yes I plugged it in n the pump didn't start do they need the tap unit attached to run or should it run regardless

First things first, You need to wait alittle longer for people to respond, you can't be impatient
2. Attitudes will not get any respose or will get attitude back

Did you even check if its got impeller? Make sure you dont run it dry.
 
You primed it, yes? The canister and the tubes need to be filled with water for the motor to function properly.

You don't describe exactly what's going on here. Is it that the filter isn't pushing water when plugged in, or that when you plug it in nothing at all happens? Because if the engine doesn't make a nasty noise when being run dry or at least hum then your pump is dead and you might as well scrap it. If it's not actually pushing water when full but making a noise, take it apart (if you can) and see if maybe sand or gravel is stuck in the impeller.

You should be a bit more descriptive and less salty if you want helpful responses.
