Hello everyone,
New guy here so please be gentle. I used the search function and read thru as much as I could looking for an answer to my question. Didnt really find what I was looking for so here goes.

I have a Eheim pro3e 2078. Media setup I am thinking of is:

Bottom: EHEIM Ehfimech Coarse Mech Ceramic Media 2L
Blue Foam Pad

Middle: Eheim Media Substrat Pro 2L
Blue Foam Pad

Middle2: Eheim Substrat Biological Media 2L
Green Scrubby Pads

Top: Seachem Purigen 2L
Filter Floss

Im redoing a 92g Corner that will house 8 BZ Frontosas, 2 Pictus Cats, 1 Cory Cat, and 1 Albino Pleco.
Non Planted tank with a couple of Holey rocks and a few other weird rocks.
UV, 3m colorquartz substrate.
The 2078 will be the only filter in use, or so I hope.

All these guys are less than 4 inches atm.
I have always used carbon in my filters since I was a kid. After alot of reading I think I too only want to use carbon now to remove things if I have to.

So please, how does the top setup sound to everyone?

Take out the middle blue foam pad and the top filter floss, otherwise the filter will lose its flow rate sooner and make matienece more frequent. For an easy alternative you could always cut the foam pads and rubberband them around the intake tube, or put the foam inside the intake strainer, but be cautious if you decide to put it in the strainer, becuase if the foam gets sucked up into the pump head, it could clog the filter. I actually have a 2078 and trust me you don't want to have foam pads of floss in every basket. Hope this helped :)
