Have a 5feet by 2feet tank, currently running on 8trays OHF with ATMAN powerhead.

Was thinking of further filteration and couldn't decide on either 2080 or 2260.

Any advise guys?

I have a 2260 filled with bio materials, i am very satisfied with it, both flow wise and canister size. I dont have a 2080 filter, but i am very certain that the filter is very good also. Will be getting an 2080 soon also.

I just bought a 2080 and the thing is spectacular. Putting it together was a dream. And the thing is pretty much built to make your life easy.

The BIG thing with the 2080 that I love is the mechanical media is on the top (your foam pads) so you don't have to pull out all of your media to get at them to change them. So cleaning out the rest of the filter only has to happen a cpl times a year. This works by the water coming into the top tray which has the mechanical pad there. then the water goes down to the bottom via a tube on the side. It continues up the media after that then out of the filter.

Another pro... IT HAS ROCKING TRAYS :).... these trays are so easy to pull your media out... rinse them off if needed and put back in... NEVER HAVE TO TOUCH IT!!!

Only thing I would say is make sure you have room for it. ITS BIG I have 12 liters of media in that badboy.

I have the 2260 on a 300 gallon tank and I can tell you that it is so good that you can drink the water from the tank. I went for the 2260 becuase it has the largest canister and the most powerful pump that eheim sales, it pumps 2400 liters per hour, and if you are not happy with that you can upgrade the pump to a 3600 liters per hour (beat that 2080) some thing that the other eheims cant do :D. So if you want to go for a real deal take the 2260.

I would suggest that you also look at the Eheim 2078. I've just gotten two of these babies to replace some older filters, and they are brilliant. They're not as big as the 2080, but the control that you have (and the fact that they fit in my cabinet and the 2080 does not) is outstanding.

I would suggest going with a 2262 eheim.
