I actually have a couple questions. I recently picked up a Pro 3 2080 but it didn't come with the hoses. Is it ok to use the clear vinyl hosing you find at the hardware store? They're much cheaper than buying the original Eheim hoses. I picked up 7/8" OD x 5/8" ID hose which is closest to the Eheim 16/22 hose that the unit originally comes with. I just find it hard to attach the hose so I'm wondering if I can used vaseline on it and will it affect the fish? Thanks for your input.

I hope this filter is enough for the 125 gal tank I'm setting up. Thanks for your input!

Dont use Vasiline, not fish safe. Use silicone lubricant, food grade, but I think if you place the ends of the tubing into boiling water and get it really rubbery it should slip on fairly easy. As far as same quality tubing, try to use the tubing with the thicker wall(pvc) as opposed to the thin wall stuff(vinyl).

Thanks for the heads up on the vaseline. Where can I get the pvc tubing. I didn't see it at my local Home Depot.

That is what i use,

try and find the type with the fiberglass mesh

If I can't find the pvc I'll look into that. Thanks.
