Eheim 2080: Red Safety Catch hard to push

Howdy,

As mentioned in the title. It only moves with excessive force. Reconnecting the safety adapter (holding the hoses) to the filter top requires hard pushing as well.

Anyone else have that problem? Filter is a bit over 3 years old.

yeah , mines a bit hard to push aswell! not sure how to fix it, if any one has any ideas i would be interested to hear it aswell.

I have 2 new ones cicleling on a gal , i tink they sopuse to be like that so the water presure dont pop out the safety adapter

Mine is only a month or two old and it is hard to push as well.

Eheim sell a lubricant that sorts the problem beautifully.

Ill warn you though, its expensive, but its fish friendly and I use it on all sorts of equipment. Works a treat.

I actually bought this here

and used it, because the Eheim lube is hard to come by from the stores where I normally order. This lube also worked great, the button on the filter now pushes in very easily.
