Would like your thoughts please. Whether you've have used both and are able to compare or you have one or the other.

Any information would be much appreciated as there isn't much comparing the 2 online.

Thanks in advance

i have a fluval 4 and like it. from my understanding the fluval 4 has a flow rate of 260 gph and uses 10w where as the eheim 2212 has a flow rate of 172 gph and uses 6 w.

What size tank, what stocking level?
For reliability, check HERE
The 2211 I mention in there is still in operation - makes 19 years now :WHOA:

sorry its for a 65 gallon tank. It also has a power head connected to a sponge filter, an XP3, and a small hob filter.

i want to get id of the small HOB filter and add a bigger one. Its a pretty heavily stocked tank.

Howdy,

I filter my 40 gal with a 2217, depending on stocking levels that should also work for your 60 gal. Why don't you reduce some clutter and get a single filter that does the trick?

sounds like a great idea but i only just got the xp3 a couple months ago, and i need the supplementary filtration for circulation, too keep all that pleco poo off the sand lol.
