EHEIM 2217 filter media

Hi there,

Picking up an EHEIM 2217 for my 75 Gallon, Going to use it in conjunction with an AC110.

Anyways, some questions about the filter.

Can I use Poly-fill in this canister? (Pollyfill from walmart) and would it be placed at the very top to act as a polisher? OR would it be placed at very bottom?

Furthermore, Should I use poly fill or blue&White Filter floss? (I have a big roll of this stuff)


.. Where are you guys getting the laundry bags for the Substratepro media? I cannot find one suitable for the canister? Either they are too big, or too small or have metal rings.

Not sure of the flow direction of the Eheim's, but I use filter floss after the coarser mechanical (sponges and the like) as a polisher and before the bio-media in my canister. You want as little gunk getting to the bio-media as possible to prevent it from getting gunked up.

Polly fill is fine,put it on the top.

Either or both would be fine too.
