I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but, Googling for a used 2260 (want to put one on a 125 I will be setting up), I ran across a seller offering one for $188 http://www.petshopusa.com/rylhc1755.html. I'm skeptical, based on the price, and no photo--just a diagram of the filter.

I was wondering if anyone has done business with this vendor, or heard anything? I'd like to take advantage of the offer if it's legitimate.

That is not the
Complete filter, what they have listed that they are selling is just the bucked/ bottom part of the canister.

I wish I had caught that about the partial filter before posting. I guess it's on to plan B then--two less-powerful canisters.

Thanks for the replies.

If you were willing to budget $188 for a large filter why not spend just a little bit more and get an FX5 for around $235 on Amazon.

^^^ Agreed. I got mine for $230 shipped WITH media off ebay. Brand new.

Imagine how pissed would you be if you brought that?

If your on a budget for a big canister go get a fx5 but If you want reliability get a 2260/2262. And if your on a budget and want reliability get on a local fish forum, Craigslist, or the classifieds on here and find you a used 2260/2262 for 200-275$. Thats about what they go for used.

I am happy to say my 2260 is 20 years old and the only thing that has been replace on it is the O-ring around the lid. :headbang2
