Hey guys my Eheim 2260 is having a really small leak from the drain tap it letting out drops do you know what this can be and how to fix it?
really need help Thank you!
i used to own an eheim 2250. it had no drain valve at the bottom. perhaps the connector inside needs to be tightened to the one ouside, if you follow me. i would check the o-ring part as well, if indeed it has one.
If the water is leaking out of the end of the fitting, the internal o-ring on the valve may be damaged or there is a bit of grit there that is causing the water to leak by.
If it's leaking at the canister body, the o-ring on the male end of the fitting may be due for a replacement or the nut inside the canister body needs to be snugged up.
Either way, the filter needs to be emptied of water to identify and correct the problem.
The price of quality.
I would investigate like said by others but I feel you should just spend the $30 or try and replace with aftermarket plumbing parts.

+1 on this
i checked but the o rigng in side the drain tap looks ok and thats where its leaking im pretty sure ?????
what am i suppose to look for on the O ring
Pics would help alot, or try getting a video of the leak. 9 times out of ten it is an o-ring or a gasket. You should be able to go to you Lowe's or home depot and find a suitable replacement parts for cheap. Just make sure to bring it with you to match it up.
See if there are any tears or pieces missing from the o-ring OR if the o-ring appears flat. You will need to remove the drain tap to check the o-ring. The o-ring can be purchased online and there are 2 per package.
