Looking to pick up this filter but wanted to know if there is a black intake tube and spray bar that they sell which fits this model? My tank background is black . I was looking at a fx6 as well since its all black but heard the 2262 is better in the long run as for realiabity.

All of eheim equipment are green unless you upgrade to their installatioSets. But those sets doesn’t apply to 2262. They only work with lower size like the 2217. Your out of luck if you use their hose and equipment and wanted in black.

Hello; I use this and it works really well for these filters. Inlet = 1” pond hose / outlet = 3/4”

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004YK5RIM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_FA7IAbZS4S52R

You can connect anything from there, Loc Line, spray bar, you name it

You can also spray paint the piping black using Krylon Fusion for plastic paint or similar. Just be sure to follow the paint instructions and use a couple coats plus wait until thoroughly dry. I've used this method and it works great!

Eheim equipment is a pain with their sizing I totally agree. That pond hose has just the right fit and width to make it work though. I tried a lot of different things until I found that.

I guess the strapping of the hoses you just use zip ties or hose clamps?

Hose clamps. That hose suuuucks to get onto proper hose barbs. The Eheim are slightly smaller so those are nice.

Pro tip: hair dryer the hose ends before putting it on a barb. Heat softens it a bit

Hehee I just Boil a pot of water and let the hose end soften up to inset it into the barb. It works every time even sometimes fitting a 1/2” hose into a 5/8” barb.
