did a search and saw a bunch of stuff, I have never had a canister without baskets, so were do i get the stuff I can cut using the grate thing as a guide, Do i just stuff it int there on top of another. Also were would you put the biomax at, on top, in middle or bottom.

I use Poret foam, cut to fit slightly larger than the lattice screen. I bought it from Swisstropicals and got the 13" square size in 20ppm & 30ppm. Any bio media should be placed in the filter last.
In one I have a layer of nylon pot scrubbers on the bottom, and then Seachem Matrix to the top with a sheet of batting to polish. The other is the same way but has ceramics instead of Matrix.
