Eheim 2262

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The intake/suction is 1", the return/output is 5/8".

Increasing the return size will slightly increase the flow rate. There was a eheim hobby pump that is rated higher than the 1262 and the main difference was the output size hose/barb fitting.

That's what I was hoping but wasn't sure if it would be too wide, I might try and reduce it down to 3/4". On my 360g I made a 3/4" spraybar and it works awesome. Do you know where I can find that pump?

The 2262 is using the 1262 hobby pump. It is 80W versus 65W (1260/2260) and the impeller volute is opening is larger.

Are you looking for more flow (GPH) or more velocity?

No, if you look at my build thread on my 420G the tank has three 2" holes drilled in the back. I got the bulkheads on and the elbow that fits the bulkhead is 1", so I was wanting to run 1" tubing but didn't want to over work the pump. It would be nothing to reduce it but if I can get better folw than that's a plus

This is a quote from your build thread, "I'm putting three Eheim 2262's, the tank has 4 holes drilled in the bottom and 3 on the back panel. I'm gonna use the holes in the back panel as my inlet. I'm thinking it will be plenty of filteration"

If the holes on the back panel will be connected to the suction ports on the canisters, then 1" is perfect. BUT, you will need to find a way to connect the Eheim hose to the 1" PVC via some type of hose adapter. I am using a piece of 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC inserted into the Eheim suction hose for my DIY intake pipe. The Sch.40 PVC is slightly smaller in ID than the Eheim intake piping but I haven't noticed any problems with the filter operation.

Any update on the filter setup?
