my biggest beef is it doesnt include the media and IF you buy their media it nearly dbls the cost. I also had one blow out and leave me a few inches of water in a 180. the rest was all over my basement.

wow in I saw in the above link where you could drill a hole in the intake pipe in case the filter leaks it won't drain the tank .Yes it will take a fair amount of media to fill it

My filters have been up and running for over 10 years and I have yet to see a need to drill a hole in the intake pipe in case the filter leaked.

Check and see if they sell 2 inch thick Poret filter foam over on your side of the pond. It takes up a fair amount of space if you double it up.

mine blew out of after 3 yrs of operation, it blew out at that grey circle that connects the cannister to the pump- just sheered straight off

I had earlier versions back in the 80s, and found them hard to clean, sometimes hard to start after cleaning, leaked after a while, wimpy pumpage (flow), and a general pain in the ***, especially for that significant chunk of change.
I tried a few other brands of cans after that, found them all to have the same type problems, and decided cans weren't worth the bother.
I only use sumps or HOBs now

Well my eheim 2260 not a 2262 a I posted earlier very quick delivery as I ordered it last monday being from the us I think the pump runs at 120v while over here in the uk we have 240v so I will buy a uk pump may even buy a 1262 pump which would bring it up to the 2262 spec.

Well that's a bummer it's not a 2262 and it's 120V, probably also didn't come with the quick disconnect valves as that was the case with my 2260 filter.
