I just set up a new tank equipped with a brand new Eheim 2236 Ecco filter a couple of hours ago. The filter unfortunately shoots out a stream of bubbles ever so often. I've tried retightening the intake and output and I still continue to get the random stream of bubbles

Has anyone every experienced this? If so, how did you resolve it? :help2:

make shure all the connections are water tight make shure there arent any air stines or anything near the intake maybe shake the canister around to get any air in the canister out thats what i do

Thanks for the inputs. Yea all the connections are definitely air tight and there is nothing near the intake. I've moved the position of the canister a couple of times and of course it cause the filter to shoot out load of bubbles but it always comes back.

Does your filter act this way also normally?

mabye itll stop doing it once all the air is out.
ding ding ding winner. It just has to purge the air trapped in the media sponges etc. Let it run a while.

Thanks everybody for the replies! The filter's been running for the last 4 hrs or so....I'll check on it tomorrow morning.

Yup shake it. Another thing is to stop it click the double taps drain it then let it fill itself give it a shake and bam good as new. First start up usually has a lot of hiccups at least for the classic series in my case.
