I have an Eheim 2217, two Eheim 2028 knockoffs (I think), and one legit 2028 for sale. There's enough media for all of these too. The real 2028 is running so there's live bacteria in the media. The others are dormant.
The 2217 is near-new condition. $75. The knockoffs are $50 each.
The two knockoffs look just like the real 2028 (I have one of these too, it may end up for sale in a month or so) except for the fact that each hose attaches individually. They run just as quietly, move just as much water, hold just as much media, etc. I don't know who makes them. I was skeptical at first but turned them on and saw that they do the job well. It's a bit tougher to prime them but that's the only thing that's different, aside from not having a warranty. Maybe they're an older Eheim model or something. I have no idea.
I'll take offers on the real 2028. This thing is a beast and I recently changed the O ring. I still make sure to keep it perfectly level though, just in case (it used to leak if it was slightly crooked). I know these are much more valuable than the other three, and I'm not in any rush to sell it. My africans seem to like having 2 XP3s and a 2028 on a 75g tank
