I just changed from a 55 to a 75 gallon tank. My filter had been working fine but whe4n I switched the Eheim filter to the new tank I can't get the siphoning started. I can't feel any suction action from the intake hose, either. I've taken the filter apart, cleaned it, checked for looose or broken parts, and everything looks fine. The impleer turns, so I know that's not the problem. The filter is less than a year old, but I think I lost the receipt. So the warranty does me no good. Anyway it seems so strange that it just stopped working when I set it up with the new tank. Hopefully someone out there can solve my problem.

I have a problem on occasion with the primer. I use the installation kits on the supply and return. Unscrew the vent caps and fill both hoses to the top. One or two pushes on the primer and bubbles are forced out the return and siphon usually starts.

just fill the canister with water, close the lid and start it up again.

Try this, set up the canister if it's ready to work but don't plug it yet, use a power head if you have one take the stainer out and push water to the intake until you see water coming out from the outlet, then plug your canister works every time, i know the pro 2 after a while they stop working you have to put silicone gel on the head.

Yes, it is full of water. What concerns me is there is no suction on the intAKE HOSE. I've ke[t trying and trying and still nothing happens. It's as though the water is not being pulled in. I'll try the cap solution and report back.

same thing happened on my brothers jebo 829..sitl lhave yet to fix it..but i'll try that powerhead trick..that someone up there^^ stated above

the reason you can feel suction on the intake hose when they are running is because of the siphon, and the fact that they are pumping water out the return line...you have to move water out of the canister for the siphon to start...
be sure the seal in the top is seated properly also...
