Ok, i forgot about this filter that i got for free about a year ago. I got it with no intakes or outake because i believe it was plumbed directly to the tank from the person who gave it to me. So my question is does anyone have some ideas on the intakes i can make out of pvc because on this filter theres two intakes and i remeber looking at buying them and they were like 30 a piece and i rather just make one and paint it black for much cheaper. Thanks

Most hardware stores will have everything you need. 16mm hose with all sorts or attachments(19mm) that you should be able to make your own inlet/outlet. I recommend a spray bar style (PVC with small holes drilled along the bottom.)

My idea would be to bite the bullet and get the proper intake tubes and output tubes for your filter. Believe it or not there is science involved with the amount of pressure created by the output tube and the amount of flow from the intake tubes. The filter's geometry and impeller/motor are designed around this and if you tweak these you can shorter the life of the more expensive components of your filter. I know that it seems you will save SO much money but I've done enough of these products to know that 1) it will never cost as little as you plan on it costing 2) it won't be as quality or long lasting 3) it won't perform as well and 4) your time is worth money as well and these projects always end up taking longer than you anticipated. You've got a quality filter so don't decrease the performance and reliability by making your own parts for it. I know that's not what you want to hear but it's what you need to hear. Been there... done that. Learn from my mistakes.

Thats a nice filter for free and I would agree your way better off just buying the proper OEM parts you need.
