Greetings all,

I received my Eheim 2075 canister yesterday. While I was unpacking and checking out all the items, I heard a rattle noise coming from the head canister when I turned it over...not sure if it's normal or something is loose or a broken part. I'm sure there are many parts inside the head canister but this rattle noise was constant by turning it over.

I called customer support left a message but unfortunately no one called back yet.

I really appreciate it if anyone can help out that has this or similar model.

Thanks
Jim

Most all canister filters use a magnetic drive impeller. This means the the only thing connection the impeller to the motor is a strong magnetic field. I would guess that if you remove the impeller cover and the impeller the noise will probably go away.

P.S. I really like my 2075. It is only 2 years old but has never given me a single problem.

Hello and thanks for your reply.
This was the first thing I checked was the impeller assembly. Took it out and everything seems fine. While it was out I turned it over and it made the same exact rattle noise. I just checked the maintenance guide and the only thing I could come up with is maybe the float valve/bracket might be making this noise? I will take it apart and see.. tired of waiting on CS. Thanks again.

My 2075 is pretty much the only filter I have used that has a priming button that actually works. I usually fill the filter up with water before sealing the top and putting it on the tank. The priming button seems to get'er going pretty quick.

Enjoy!
