Hi Guys n Gals,, i have had a Eheim pro 3 (2075) for a year now with no problem,,, its never been very good to prime so i have always sucked the water through the intake pipe to start it filling the cannister,, just recently though i am having trouble getting the taps off ... i push the red button but have to really wiggle the pipes around to disconnect them .... when i come to fill the cannister back up for some reason the water doesnt fill the cannister and no matter what i do it just dribbles in,, if i disconnect the tap again and open the shutter into a jug the flow is there,, i end up emptying the cannister and starting over again a few times to eventually get it started, this had happened the last 3 times.. any ideas,,:nilly: Dawnie xxx

I have the same problems disconnecting the pipes from my 2078-push the red button but its still a real effort. Mines second hand so I don't really know any different

Priming on the 2075 and 2028 has a problem, is the trouble to get the hoses out of the
safety adapter, or get the adapter out of the head of the filter?. Next time you get the safety adapter from the head lubricate the two o'rings also lubricate the lever to close or open the flow, if its the hoses you try to get them out from the safety adapter, use hot water. Now the self priming on these filters including 2028, its not that great; I don't use it, instead i just set up the canister like if its ready to plug, and with a power head i force water throughout the intake; until i see water coming out, this way you will preventing the seal to fail going back and for with the priming, this way will prime all the time.

I have a 2080 and on occassion getting the hose attachment on/ off can be a real problem.

To start the siphon I clamp off one intake then depress the prime button ... rinse and repeat with the other intake. If you use a spray bar remove the endcap when priming.

The 2028 and the 2075 have completely different methods to prime them,The 2028 has a big circular priming button on the top and really should be left alone once first primed as yes they are a pain and the seal on the priming plunger does have a tendency to leak.
The 2075 has s imilar setup to the 2078e which I have and yest the hose connector does seem to be a bit tough to get out of the filter but as has been said lubricate the catch and the o rings and it should make it a bit better. When you are trying to fill the filter do you have the intake and the return submerged,if so that is the problem you need to have the return out of the water as otherwise you get water flow down the return back into the filter creating an air lock used to happen all the time with my 2028 until I removed the return spraybar and it has been fine since then never a problem priming it.

thanks for all your help... i have a spray bar and its not submerged when i try to refill my filter,, i always clean my pipes out when i clean my filter because i have plecs and they are fed courgette so pipes get clogged and the water flow runs slow on filter when this happens. Pipes are empty of water and so is cannister. i dont take the pipes off the adapter as they are on to tight . the only way i can get cannister to fill is to suck water through the intake then shut the flow off and then attach it to the cannister but that doesnt always work at 1st.

Howdy,

I had the same problem with the connectors on my old 2080. Take the entire thing apart (only the manual will help you to put it back together later!!!). Then lube everything with silicone oil and reassemble.
