So today I finally picked up my Eheim pro 3e 2078, and so far I'm very pleased with the product, other than the fact that it is filled with only 2L ehfimech, and 2L ehfisubstrat pro, which were from my pro 2 2026. The flow rate on this filter is pretty amazing, and the ability to have 12 hour cycles, or wave making, abilities is AWESOME! The auto air purge is nice as well. We will see how this filter holds up over time. Next week I have 4L of substrat pro coming, which will fill out the filter quite nicely. One thing I noticed, which will make Harley happy, is that the white mat has become much thicker, and quite a bit stronger, and tighter woven. 
Just for you Harley! The few downsides I see so far are that it does not come with the spray bar upgrade, nor media. My discus are loving the new movement, and soon this tank will be clear as air. This is one big filter, and one expensive filter. I'll post a review in the equipment thread in a few months after I've had time to see how it runs.
