Where is the best place to buy the filter? Is it necessary to use Eheim's filter media or can I use something else?

you can use other media but Eheim's seems to be the best for bio anyways. I think big al's might have the best price but I could be wrong...

I bought mine through the LFS at $304 empty $354 filled. You can use whatever media you want, but Eheim's media is better than any other available easily. Cell-pore is the only bio-media that beats eheim, but it costs a good amount more.

your right bad news it dont fit under my dresser so im getting ready to order one with bigger doors..i would stick it on the side of tank but its in the living room...by the way how good is this filter? i havnt heard any info if they work good or not... are you plzed with your pro3e? i cant wait til i get mine going..
