eheim pro problems

the filter has been set up for a long time and last night as some point the tiny tube (not the intake or output) but the third one whatever its called started making gurgling noises like theres water in it. any help would be great, it only does it when the filter is filling up.

how can i stop the noise and what caused it?

It sounds like this is the Eheim 2227/2229 wet/dry filter. You just need to raise the breather tube out of the water (the small diameter tube located between the intake & output tubes). When the filter expels the water during the cycle, the tank level rises and is probably being 'sucked' in through the breather tube.
